“There is no fear in love. Perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18 (NIV) Do you have a spirit of fear? Love and fear can’t coexist! Fear and punishment coexist! The antidote for fear: Love, the identity of God! Overcome fear by knowing God! Who is love? God says He is love. So if you fear punishment by judgment, the antidote is God, who is love and mercy. God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, who took the punishment/judgment for the sin of every person: those living, those no longer alive, and those yet to be born. Doing wrong is sin and causes fear of punishment and judgment. “All wrong doing is sin.” 1 John 5:17 (NIV) Nuggets of Truth: The plain simple definition of sin, doing wrong! When sin entered the world because of Adam and Eve’s freedom to choose, God and Jesus set into motion the plan to redeem humanity! Jesus Christ came to earth in human form born as a divine newborn baby and lived a perfect, sinless life. Jesus Christ redeems people who believe in Him. All redeemed people go to heaven on the life record of Jesus! With the God-given freedom to choose comes the choice to do right or to do wrong/evil. Love, known as God will go on forever, but evil will eventually come to an end for humanity known as the beloved people of God. “And I heard a loud voice form the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4 (NIV) Choose to use your God-given freedom, and accept God’s son, Jesus. Realize God chose to give you freedom to obey or disobey, and every person who has ever lived has shown disobedience before obedience, except Jesus Christ who was without sin. With humanity’s disobedience, God lovingly paid the cost to free all people of sin by the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. Have you been freed to experience true freedom only found in Jesus Christ?
