Christmas is upon us. Have you asked yourself, “What “gifts” does Jesus desire from me?” The same exact gifts He asks from me each day of my earthly walk with Him; whatever Jesus calls “sin” in my life. Although this is not an exhaustive list of sins, here’s a list of sins, but not all sins are included in this list. Only the Holy Spirit can convict me of all the sins I need to give to Jesus. Sins including self-sufficiency, unrighteous anger, bitterness, unkindness, unthankfulness, bitterness, envy, vengeful words or actions, untruthfulness, unloving, all wrong doing. “What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be True, and every man a liar. As it is written: ‘So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.'” Nuggets of Truth: What does God, the Eternal Judge say about faithless people? “Let God be True and every man a liar!” Read Genesis 1. God spoke this world into existence. The spoken word is powerful! God has given His children, the powerful Holy Spirit inspired Living Word, Jesus. “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:12-13 Ask yourself: Am I allowing God’s powerful living and active Word to divide my soul and spirit, joints and marrow? Am I allowing God to judge my heart’s thoughts and attitudes? My soul consist of my mind, will and emotions. Jesus’ double-edged sword cuts away everything in my mind, will and emotions that is not Him! Is this a painless procedure by God? No, this action is by the Eternal Doctor requiring surgery! And this surgery will not cause physical pain, but emotional pain! Jesus performs transplant surgery by transplanting His mind, the mind of Christ, His will and His emotions as I yield my life to Him. Jesus cuts away my sinful spirit and transplants the Holy Spirit who controls my soul and spirit as I yield my life to Him! “So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” Genesis 2:20-25. Nuggets of Truth: God, the Eternal Doctor took one rib out of Adam and created Eve orchestrating the first marriage. Ask yourself: Am I feeling shame in marriage? Yes or No? If yes, ask God to reveal sin in my life by reading Genesis 3 and then, question myself according to Genesis 3. Am I being deceived by satan, am I engaging in conversation with satan, am I disobeying God, am I adding words to God’s commandments, am I breaking God’s commandments, am I blaming other people, am I making excuses, am I being irresponsible, am I refusing to be accountable for my actions?
I would like to share a short story by Wilbur Rees entitled “Three Dollars Worth of God”. “I would like to buy $3.00 worth of God, please. Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don’t want enough of God to make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant. I want ecstasy, not transformation. I want warmth of the womb, not a new birth. I want a pound of the Eternal in a paper sack. I would like to buy $3.00 worth of God, please.”
